Printeractive Collections contains a wide range of media archives. Our collections are fully formatted in Linked Data format using the Europeana Data Model. This particular page will display the entire A Liverpool Bestiary Collection created by Neil Morris and Hannah Fray at Liverpool John Moores University School of Art and Design.
Digitisation
The A Liverpool Bestiary Collection Dataset was digitised, annotated and shared in an Open Data format and Creative Commons Reusable Data agreement. The digitisation of the A Liverpool Bestiary is part of an ongoing research project which aims to facilitate the engagement with cultural heritage content on the Web. Printeractive Collections is able to provide digitisation services for 2D and 3D objects, annotation and curation of collections. We are particularly interested in helping small cultural organisations to develop their collections. A Bestiary is a Medieval collection of stories providing physical and allegorical descriptions of real or imaginary animals, along with an interpretation of the moral significance each animal is thought to embody. Whether the beasts of stories are familiar or exotic, these creations usually are symbolic of human beings or of human traits.
